The ‘Balasahyoga’ programme, meaning ‘active support to the child’, aims to improve the quality of life of children and their families infected or affected by HIV/AIDS accross India's Andhra Pradesh state by providing care, support and treatment services.

“It is almost impossible to fight the HIV virus without effective nutrition…Children infected with HIV can need as much as twice the amount of food that healthy children need.”
Geoffrey Dennis, Chief Executive of CARE UK
The programme aims to support 30,000 households to access better food and nutrition over the next five years. They will also have the chance to build a sustainable livelihood through a variety of income generation activities and agricultural projects.
